The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun is overthrown, 1 And when the stars shall fall; 2 when the mountains shall be set moving, 3 And when the pregnant she-camels shall be neglected; 4 the wild beasts are herded together, 5 When the oceans boil over with a swell; 6 when the souls shall be rejoined (with their bodies), 7 When the female (infant), buried alive, is questioned - 8 For what crime she was put to death; 9 And when the pages are made public 10 And when the sky is stripped away 11 and when Hell is set ablaze, 12 And when the garden is brought nigh, 13 (Then) every soul will know what it hath made ready. 14 Oh, but I call to witness the planets, 15 The planets withdrawing into themselves, 16 And by the night as it closes in 17 And by the dawn when it breathes 18 Verily it is a Word brought by a messenger honoured, 19 [Who is] possessed of power and with the Owner of the Throne, secure [in position], 20 who is obeyed there and is worthy of trust. 21 Your Companion is not mad, 22 And without doubt he saw him in the clear horizon. 23 He is not avid of the Unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of a satan accursed. 25 Whither then will you go? 26 This is certainly the guidance for all (jinn and mankind). 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Lord of the Universe, so wills it [to show you that way]. 29
