The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ AR-RAHMAN 1 Has taught the Qur’an to His beloved Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him). 2 He created the human 3 He taught distinctness. 4 The sun and moon rotate in a predestined orbit. 5 And the herbs and the trees do prostrate (to Him). 6 And the heaven, He raised it high, and He made the balance 7 That ye exceed not the measure, 8 Therefore, maintain just measure and do not transgress against the Balance. 9 And earth -- He set it down for all beings, 10 There exists all kinds of fruits, palm-trees with sheathed blossoms, 11 Grain with husk, and fragrant grasses. 12 Which favors of your Lord will you both (humans and jinn) belie? 13 He created the human from clay, like earthenware 14 whereas the invisible beings He has created out of a confusing flame of fire. 15 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 16 Lord of the Two Easts, Lord of the Two Wests, 17 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 18 He has given freedom to the two great bodies of water, so that they might meet: 19 between them a barrier they do not overpass. 20 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 21 Pearls and coral-stone come forth from them. 22 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 23 His are the ships displayed upon the sea, like banners. 24 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 25
