The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ What are they asking each other about? 1 About the Great News 2 Concerning which they differ. 3 Verily, they shall soon (come to) know! 4 Nay, again, they will come to know! 5 HAVE WE NOT made the earth a resting-place [for you,] 6 and the mountains as pegs? 7 And We have created you in pairs. 8 And have appointed your sleep for repose, 9 and made the night [its] cloak 10 And made the day as a means of subsistence? 11 and built above you seven strong firmaments, 12 And placed (therein) a Light of Splendour? 13 And do We not send down from the clouds water in abundance, 14 to make the seeds, plants, 15 and gardens dense with foliage? 16 Surely the Day of Decision is an appointed time, 17 The Day that the Trumpet shall be sounded, and ye shall come forth in crowds; 18 And the heaven will be opened – it therefore becomes like gates. 19 and the mountains will be set in motion and become a mirage. 20 Behold, Gehenna has become an ambush, 21 The destination of the rebellious. 22 therein to tarry for ages, 23 Neither coolness shall they taste therein nor any [thirst-quenching] drink 24 except boiling water and pus, 25 as a fitting recompense for their deeds. 26 For that they used not to fear any account (for their deeds), 27 And rejected Our signs as lies. 28 and everything We have numbered in a Book. 29 So taste (the fruit of what you sowed), for We shall add nothing but torment, 30

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
