And Nuh did certainly call upon Us, and most excellent answerer of prayer are We. 75 And We rescued him and his family from the great distress (i.e. drowning), 76 And his offspring! them We made the survivors. 77 And left (his name) for posterity. 78 Peace be upon Nooh, among the entire people. 79 Lo! thus do We reward the good. 80 Lo! he is one of Our believing slaves. 81 Then We did drown the others. 82 ۞ And lo! of his persuasion verily was Abraham 83 When he came to his Lord with a heart compliant, 84 and when he said to his father and to his nation: 'What do you worship? 85 Is it false deities that you want to serve rather than Allah? 86 Then what is your thought about the Lord of the worlds?" 87 The people invited him to attend their feast). Then he looked at the stars 88 and said: 'Surely, I am sick (of what you worship)' 89 So they went away from him, turning back. 90 He turned to their gods and said, "Do you not eat? 91 Why do you not speak?" 92 And he turned upon them striking them with the right hand. 93 Then the people came toward him, hastening. 94 Said he: What! do you worship what you hew out? 95 when it is Allah who created you and all that you do' 96 "Build a pyre for him and throw him into the raging fire." 97 (This failing), they then sought a stratagem against him, but We made them the ones most humiliated! 98 And he said: Lo! I am going unto my Lord Who will guide me. 99 “My Lord! Give me a meritorious child.” 100 Wherefore We gave him the glad tidings of a boy gentle. 101 Then, when (the son) reached (the age of) (serious) work with him, he said: "O my son! I see in vision that I offer thee in sacrifice: Now see what is thy view!" (The son) said: "O my father! Do as thou art commanded: thou will find me, if Allah so wills one practising Patience and Constancy!" 102 But as soon as the two had surrendered themselves to [what they thought to be] the will of God, and [Abraham] had laid him down on his face, 103 We called out to him: "O Abraham, 104 Thou hast already fulfilled the vision. Lo! thus do We reward the good. 105 that surely was a manifest trial, 106 And We rescued him in exchange of a great sacrifice. (The sacrifice of Ibrahim and Ismail peace be upon them is commemorated every year on 10, 11 and 12 Zil Haj). 107 And We left for him among the posterity: 108 Peace be unto Ibrahim: 109 Thus do We reward the doers of good. 110 Lo! he is one of Our believing slaves. 111 Then We gave him the good tidings of Isaac, a Prophet, one of the righteous. 112 And We sent blessings upon him and Ishaq; and among their descendants some who do good deeds, and some who clearly wrong themselves. 113

Notes and Instructions
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
