The dwellers of the Thicket belied their Messengers. 176 when their brother Shu'ayb said unto them: "Will you not be conscious of God? 177 "I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 178 Therefore guard against (the punishment of) Allah and obey me: 179 And I do not ask you any reward for it, my reward is only with the Lord of the worlds; 180 ۞ Give full measure, and be not of those who give less (than the due). 181 And weigh with the true balance. 182 and do not deliver short, and do not go about creating mischief in the land, 183 And fear He who created you and the former creation." 184 They said: Thou art but one of the bewitched; 185 “You are just a human like us, and indeed we consider you a liar.” 186 So cause a piece of the sky to fall upon us if you are truthful." 187 Answered [Shu'ayb]: "My Sustainer knows fully well what you are doing." 188 But they denied him, and We seized them with the torment of the Day of Shadowing (when the cloud had rained down fire). It was indeed the torment of a terrible day! 189 In this [story,] behold, there is a message [unto men,] even though most of them will not believe [in it]. 190 Surely thy Lord, He is the All-mighty, the All-compassionate. 191
