The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
WHEN THE SUN is folded up, 1 The stars turn dim and scatter, 2 When the mountains vanish (like a mirage); 3 And when the pregnant she-camels shall be neglected; 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together, 5 And when the seas are set on fire, 6 when the souls shall be rejoined (with their bodies), 7 and when the girl-child buried alive shall be asked: 8 such as, "For what crime were they murdered?" 9 And when the books are spread, 10 and when Heaven is laid bare; 11 and when Hell is set ablaze, 12 And when the garden is brought nigh, 13 A soul will [then] know what it has brought [with it]. 14 But nay! I swear by the stars, 15 That run their course (and) hide themselves, 16 The closing night, 17 and the morning when it extends, 18 that the Quran is the word of the honorable angelic, mighty Messenger 19 one mighty and held in honour with the Lord of the Throne; 20 The one who is obeyed, and trustworthy. (Other angels obey angel Jibreel). 21 And your comrade is not mad. 22 And he has already seen Gabriel in the clear horizon. 23 He (Muhammad) is not accused of lying about the unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of the cursed Shaitan, 25 Where to are you then heading? 26 This is naught else than a reminder unto creation, 27 to everyone of you who wills to walk a straight way. 28 And you will not, unless (it be) that Allah wills, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 29
