Al-Duhaa

The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)

11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

By the morning brightness 1 and by the night when it darkens, 2 Your Lord has neither left you, nor despises you. 3 for, indeed, the life to come will be better for thee than this earlier part [of thy life]! 4 And indeed your Lord will soon give you so much that you will be pleased. (Allah seeks to please the Holy Prophet – peace and blessings be upon him.) 5 Did He not find thee an orphan and protect (thee)? 6 Did He not find thee erring, and guide thee? 7 Did He not find you poor and enrich you? 8 So as for the orphan, do not oppress [him]. 9 Therefor the beggar drive not away, 10 Therefor of the bounty of thy Lord be thy discourse. 11
