Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
I swear by the emissary winds, sent one after another (for men's benefit), 1 And those raging swiftly; 2 Consider these [messages] that spread [the truth] far and wide, 3 Then separate them, one from another, 4 By those who bring down the Reminder, 5 excusing or warning, 6 surely, that which you have been promised is about to fall! 7 When the stars are extinguished, 8 When the heaven is cleft asunder; 9 And when the mountains are carried away as dust, 10 The Messengers will receive their appointments. 11 To which Day has this task been deferred? 12 For the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false]! 13 How will you comprehend what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients 16 We will now cause the later ones to follow them: 17 Thus do We deal with the Mujrimun (polytheists, disbelievers, sinners, criminals, etc.)! 18 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 19 Did We not create you from a humble fluid, 20 which We then let remain in [the womb's] firm keeping 21 For a known term? 22 So We did measure, and We are the Best to measure (the things). 23 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a repository 25 for the living and for the dead? 26 Have We not placed high mountains upon it and given you fresh water to drink? 27 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 28 Proceed to that (the Day of Judgment) which you have rejected. 29 Go to the shadow with three ramifications, 30 Neither having the coolness of the shade nor availing against the flame. 31 Surely it sends up sparks like palaces, 32 and yellow camels. 33 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 34 On that day they will not be able to speak, 35 neither be given leave, and excuse themselves. 36 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 37 Such is the Day of Decision. We will gather you with the ancients. 38 So if you have a plan, then plan against Me. 39 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 40
