The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ Whereof do they question one another? 1 About the awesome tiding [of resurrection,] 2 on which they [so utterly] disagree. 3 Surely yes, they will soon come to know! 4 Nay! Nay! they shall soon know. 5 Have We not made the earth an expanse. 6 and raised the mountains like supporting poles? 7 We created you in pairs, 8 and gave you repose in sleep, 9 and made the night [its] cloak 10 And We have made the day for seeking livelihood. 11 and built above you seven strong firmaments, 12 and placed therein a hot, shining lamp, 13 And sent down, from the rain clouds, pouring water 14 In order to produce grain and plants with it. 15 and gardens dense with foliage. 16 Indeed, the Day of Decision is an appointed time, 17 the Day that the Horn is blown, and you shall come in crowds 18 And the heaven shall be opened, and it will become as gates, 19 And the mountains shall be moved away from their places and they will be as if they were a mirage. 20 Indeed hell is lying in ambush. 21 A home for the rebellious. 22 where they shall remain for ages, 23 tasting neither coolness nor any drink 24 save boiling water and a stinking fluid -- 25 The reward to each is according to what he is. 26 They did not expect such a Judgment 27 But they belied Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, and that which Our Prophet (Peace be upon him) brought) completely. 28 And everything have We recorded in a Book. 29 Taste therefore. We shall not increase you in aught but torment. 30

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
