The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the heavens and al-tariq. 1 And what will make you to know what At-Tariq (night-comer) is? 2 The piercing star! 3 There is not a soul but over it is a keeper. 4 Let man reflect on what he was created from. 5 He has been created from an ejected drop of fluid 6 Coming from between the back and the ribs. 7 He certainly has the power to bring him back to life. 8 on the Day when consciences are examined, 9 when he will be helpless, with no supporter. 10 So I call to witness the rain-producing sky, 11 by the earth cracking open with new growth. 12 BEHOLD, this [divine writ] is indeed a word that distinguishes between truth and falsehood, 13 and is no idle tale. 14 They are hatching up a plot, 15 But I too am devising a plan. 16 so bear with those who deny the truth, and let them be for a little while. 17
Almighty God's Truth.
