He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away 1 Because there came to him the blind man (i.e. 'Abdullah bin Umm-Maktum, who came to the Prophet (Peace be upon him) while he was preaching to one or some of the Quraish chiefs). 2 You never know. Perhaps he wanted to purify himself, 3 Or be reminded and the remembrance would benefit him? 4 As for he who thinks himself without need, 5 you attend to him, 6 Whereas it is not on thee that he is not cleansed. 7 And for him who came to you striving, 8 and in awe of God 9 you pay no heed to him. 10 By no means! Verily it is an admonition. 11 So whoever wills, let him pay attention to it. 12 It is contained in scrolls highly honoured, 13 uplifted, purified, 14 [Carried] by the hands of messenger-angels, 15 noble and virtuous scribes. 16 Perish man! how ungrateful he is! 17 Of what thing did He create him? 18 From a sperm-drop: He hath created him, and then mouldeth him in due proportions; 19 Then He eased the way for him; 20 then causes him to die and buries him, 21 then, when He wills, He raises him. 22 Nay, but (man) has not done what He commanded him. 23 Let man, then, consider [the sources of] his food: 24 how We pour down rain in abundance, 25 Thereafter We cleave the earth in clefts, 26 and thereupon We cause grain to grow out of it, 27 And grapes and herbage, 28 and olive trees and date-palms, 29 And garden-closes of thick foliage 30 And fruit and grass - 31 For use and convenience to you and your cattle. 32 But, when the Blast comes, 33 On the day when a man fleeth from his brother 34 And his mother and his father, 35 And from his wife and sons. 36 on that Day each will be occupied with his own business, making him oblivious of all save himself. 37 On that day faces will be bright as dawn, 38 and be cheerful and joyous. 39 Some faces on that Day shall be dust-ridden, 40 Darkness will cover them, 41 These are they who are unbelievers, the wicked. 42
God the Almighty always says the truth.
End of Surah: He Frowned ('Abasa). Sent down in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)

Notes and Instructions
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
