The nobles of Pharaoh said: "He surely is a clever magician. 109 and said, "He wants to expel you from your land." They asked (others), " what is your opinion in the matter? 110 They said: "Put him and his brother off (for a time), and send callers (men) to the cities to collect (and) - 111 Who will bring you every learned magician." 112 The magicians came to the Pharaoh and said: "Is there reward for us if we succeed?" 113 He said: "Yes, and moreover you will (in that case) be of the nearest (to me)." 114 They said: "O Musa (Moses)! Either you throw (first), or shall we have the (first) throw?" 115 He answered: "You throw [first]." And when they threw down [their staffs,] they cast a spell upon the people's eyes, and struck them with awe, and produced mighty sorcery. 116 We inspired Moses to throw his staff, and suddenly it began to swallow-up all that the magicians had (falsely) invented. 117 ۞ So, the truth prevailed and what they were doing was annulled; 118 So they were defeated there and then, and were returned disgraced. 119 and the sorcerers prostrated themselves, 120 They said: "We believe in the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 121 The Lord of Moses and Aaron." 122 Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said: "You have believed in him [Musa (Moses)] before I give you permission. Surely, this is a plot which you have plotted in the city to drive out its people, but you shall come to know. 123 "Surely, I will cut off your hands and your feet on opposite sides, then I will crucify you all." 124 They said: "Verily, we are returning to our Lord. 125 And you do not resent us except because we believed in the signs of our Lord when they came to us. Our Lord, pour upon us patience and let us die as Muslims [in submission to You]." 126
