The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sun is overthrown, 1 And when the stars fall, dispersing, 2 and when the mountains are made to vanish, 3 The ten-month pregnant female camels are abandoned, 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together; 5 And when the seas are filled with flame 6 when the souls are divided into different classes, 7 And when the girl buried alive shall be asked: 8 Upon what sin was she killed for. 9 and when the scrolls [of men's deeds] are unfolded, 10 when heaven shall be stripped off; 11 and when the blazing fire [of hell] is kindled bright, 12 when Paradise shall be brought nigh, 13 [then] each soul shall know what it has put forward. 14 So verily, I swear by the planets that recede (i.e. disappear during the day and appear during the night). 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 and the night as it darkly falls, 17 by the dawn sighing, 18 Truly, this is the word brought by a noble messenger, 19 [Who is] possessed of power and with the Owner of the Throne, secure [in position], 20 One (to be) obeyed, and faithful in trust. 21 Nor is your companion distracted. 22 And he has already seen Gabriel in the clear horizon. 23 He (Muhammad) is not accused of lying about the unseen. 24 Nor is this the utterance of a devil worthy to be stoned. 25 So where are you going? 26 This is a reminder for all the peoples of the world, 27 For him among you who pleases to go straight. 28 but your wishing will not avail unless Allah, the Lord of the Universe, so wishes. 29
