The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
WHEN THE SUN is shrouded in darkness, 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 And when the hills are moved, 3 And when the pregnant she-camels shall be neglected; 4 And when the wild beasts are gathered 5 When the oceans boil over with a swell; 6 when the souls shall be rejoined (with their bodies), 7 and when the girl-child that was buried alive is made to ask 8 for what sin she was slain, 9 And when the pages are made public 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped off and taken away from its place; 11 and when the blazing fire [of hell] is kindled bright, 12 And when Paradise is brought near. 13 (Then) shall each soul know what it has put forward. 14 I do not need to swear by the orbiting 15 orbiting, disappearing; 16 And by oath of the night when it turns back. 17 and the morning when it extends, 18 Verily this is the word of a noble message-bearer; 19 having power, with the Lord of the Throne secure, 20 The one who is obeyed, and trustworthy. 21 Your companion is not one possessed: 22 And without doubt he saw him in the clear horizon. 23 He is not avid of the Unseen. 24 nor is it a word of an accursed Satan. 25 So where are you going? 26 This is certainly the guidance for all (jinn and mankind). 27 for whosoever of you who would go straight; 28 And ye shall not will unless it be that Allah, the Lord of the worlds, willeth. 29
