Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the winds sent forth in swift succession, 1 Then by oath of those that push with a strong gust. 2 And [by] the winds that spread [clouds] 3 thus separating [right and wrong] with all clarity, 4 by those who bring down the reminder, 5 to provide excuses for some and to give warnings to others: 6 What is promised will surely come to pass. 7 Thus, [it will come to pass] when the stars are effaced, 8 And when the sky is split apart. 9 and when the mountains crumble into dust 10 And when the apostles are collected at the appointed time, 11 For what day is the time appointed? 12 Upon the Day of Decision! 13 And what do you know, what the Day of Decision is! 14 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth. 15 Did We not destroy the ancients 16 And We shall cause those of later times to follow them. 17 Thus do We deal with the guilty. 18 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 19 Did We not create you of a mean water, 20 The which We placed in a place of rest, firmly fixed, 21 For a known term? 22 Thus did We Plan and how excellent is Our planning! 23 Woe, on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a repository 25 for the living and for the dead? 26 and did We not firmly fix towering mountains on it and give you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 28 Depart to that which you belied! 29 Go on towards the threefold shadow 30 "Neither shading, nor of any use against the fierce flame of the Fire." 31 Surely it sends up sparks like palaces, 32 sparks like to golden herds. 33 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 34 This is a Day they will not speak, 35 Nor are they suffered to put forth excuses. 36 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have brought you and the men of old together. 38 If you have any plans, use them. 39 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 40
