He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away. 1 from a blind man who had come up to him. 2 And what should teach thee? Perchance he would cleanse him, 3 or take heed and derive benefit from [Our] warning? 4 Now as for him who believes himself to be self-sufficient 5 To him do you address yourself. 6 although it is not for you to be concerned if he remained unpurified. 7 But as to him who came to you running. 8 And he feareth 9 you ignore him. 10 Indeed, this [Quran] is an admonition. 11 So whosoever willeth - let him be admonished therewlth. 12 Inscribed in Writs honoured, 13 Exalted, Purified, 14 borne by the hands of scribes, 15 noble and most virtuous. 16 Be cursed (the disbelieving) man! How ungrateful he is! 17 From what stuff hath He created him? 18 From a drop of liquid; He created him and then set several measures for him. 19 Then made his passage easy (at birth); 20 then causes him to die and buries him, 21 then, He will raise him when He wills. 22 No! Man has not yet accomplished what He commanded him. 23 Let man consider his food: 24 We poured down rain abundantly, 25 and let the earth to break open 26 how We made the grain to grow, 27 And grapes and vegetables 28 And Olives and Dates, 29 thickly planted gardens, 30 And fruits and grasses: 31 A provision for you and for your cattle. 32 And when the Blast shall sound, 33 on that Day a man shall flee from his own brother, 34 his mother and his father, 35 his consort, his sons, 36 for on that day everyone will be completely engrossed in his own concerns. 37 Some faces on that Day shall be beaming with happiness, 38 Laughing, rejoicing. 39 And faces on that Day! upon them shall be gloom. 40 Blackness will cover them: 41 Those! they are the infidels, the ungodly. 42
