A multitude of those (on the Right Hand) will be from the first generation (who embraced Islam). 39 and a large group of those of later times. 40 And those on the left – how (wretched) are those on the left! 41 Amidst scorching wind and scalding water. 42 and the shadows of black smoke 43 Neither cool nor agreeable. 44 Verily they have been heretofore affluent. 45 and persisted in the great sin 46 And they used to say, "When we die and become dust and bones, are we indeed to be resurrected? 47 What, and our fathers, the ancients?' 48 Proclaim, “Without doubt all – the former and the latter.” 49 will be brought together for an appointment on an appointed day. 50 Then shall you, O you who err and call it a lie! 51 you shall eat of a tree called Zakkoum, 52 And filling with it your bellies 53 And upon it, you will drink the hot boiling water. 54 "Indeed ye shall drink like diseased camels raging with thirst!" 55 Thus shall they be entertained on the Day of Recompense. 56 It is He who created you, then why do you not affirm the truth? 57 Do ye then see?- The (human Seed) that ye throw out,- 58 did you create it or did We? 59 It was We who decreed death among you. We will not be surpassed 60 To transfigure you and create you in (forms) that you know not. 61 And assuredly ye have fully known the first production wherefore heed ye not? 62 Behold! that which ye sow. 63 Do you make it grow or is it We who make it grow? 64 Were it Our Will, We could crumble it to dry pieces, and you would be regretful (or left in wonderment). 65 (And say:) "We have fallen into debt; 66 Nay, but we have been deprived [of our livelihood]!" 67 So what is your opinion regarding the water that you drink? 68 Is it you who cause it to come down from the clouds - or are We the cause of its coming down? 69 If We willed, We could make it bitter, so why are you not grateful? 70 Behold! the fire which ye strike out: 71 Have you raised its tree, or We have raised it? 72 We have made it as a reminder and convenience for the needy. 73 So glorify the name of your Lord, the Supreme. 74
