Moses said, "My Lord! open up my heart, 25 and ease my task for me, 26 Remove the defect of my tongue 27 so that they may understand my speech; 28 Appoint for me a minister from my family 29 Haroun, my brother, 30 Confirm my strength with him 31 and let him share my task, 32 So that we should glorify Thee much, 33 And much remember Thee. 34 Surely Thou seest into us.' 35 Said He: "Thou art granted all that thou hast asked for, O Moses! 36 Indeed, We showed Our favour to you before also, 37 When We told your mother what We relate: 38 "'Put him into a chest, then cast it into the river. The river will cast it on to the bank, and there he shall be taken up by an enemy of Mine and his.' I showered My love on you so that you might be reared under My watchful eye. 39 Your sister went (to them) and said: 'Shall I guide you to one who will nurse him' And so We restored you to your mother, so that her eyes might rejoice and that she might not sorrow. And when you killed a soul We saved you from grief and then We tried you with many trials. You stayed among the people of Midian for a number of years, and then, Moses, you came here according to a decree. 40 I have chosen you for Myself. 41 So go forth, both you and your brother, with My Signs, and do not slacken in remembering Me. 42 Go to Pharaoh, for he has waxed insolent; 43 yet speak gently to him, that haply he may be mindful, or perchance fear.' 44 They (Moses and Aaron) said: "Our Lord! We fear lest he hasten with insolence against us, or lest he transgress all bounds." 45 [Allah] said, "Fear not. Indeed, I am with you both; I hear and I see. 46 They came to the Pharaoh and told him that they were the Messengerss of his Lord and that they wanted him to let the Israelites go with them and stop afflicting the Israelites with torment. They told the Pharaoh, "We have brought miracles from Our Creator. Peace be with those who follow the right guidance. 47 It is revealed to us that a punishment will fall on those who belie and turn away." 48 (Pharaoh) said: Who then is the Lord of you twain, O Moses? 49 He said: "Our Lord is He Who gave everything its form and then guided it." 50 Pharaoh said, 'And what of the former generations?' 51 Moses said: "Its knowledge is with my Lord, recorded in the Book. My Lord does not err, nor does He forget." 52 It is God who has made the earth as a cradle for you with roads for you to travel. He has sent water from the sky to produce various pairs of plants. 53 Eat, and graze your cattle; indeed in this are signs for people of intellect. 54
