The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the morning brightness, 1 and by the night when it darkens, 2 Thy Lord hath not forsaken thee nor doth He hate thee, 3 What is to come is better for you than what has gone before; 4 And soon will thy Guardian-Lord give thee (that wherewith) thou shalt be well-pleased. 5 Did He not find you as an orphan and give you shelter? 6 Did He not find you wandering about and give you guidance? 7 And find you in want and make you to be free from want? 8 Therefore do not oppress the orphan. 9 Nor repulse the petitioner (unheard); 10 But the bounty of the Lord - rehearse and proclaim! 11
