Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Hath there come unto thee the story of the Enveloping Event? 1 On that Day faces shall be humbled, 2 Working [hard] and exhausted. 3 Scorched by burning fire, 4 that is fueled from a tremendously hot fountain, 5 They will have no food other than bitter and thorny fruit 6 which neither sustains, nor satisfy hunger. 7 Faces on that day jocund, 8 with their striving well-pleased, 9 In the high empyrean, 10 Where they shall hear no (word) of vanity: 11 Therein will be a bubbling spring: 12 [and] there will be thrones [of happiness] raised high, 13 well arranged goblets, 14 And cushions ranged! 15 and carpets spread out. 16 Do they never reflect on the camels and how they were created, 17 And the heaven, how it is raised? 18 And at the Mountains, how they are fixed firm?- 19 and how the earth is spread out? 20 Therefore do thou give admonition, for thou art one to admonish. 21 Thou art not at all a warder over them. 22 But whoso is averse and disbelieveth, 23 So Allah will mete out to him the greatest punishment. 24 Certainly, it is to Us that they will return. 25 then upon Us shall rest their reckoning. 26
