The Night (Al-Layl)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the night enshrouding 1 And by the day as it appears in brightness; 2 And Him Who hath created male and female, 3 Indeed, your efforts are diverse. 4 As for he who gives and fears Allah 5 and believes in the truth of what is right, 6 We will facilitate for him the easy end. 7 But he who is a greedy miser and thinks himself self-sufficient, 8 And gives the lie to the best,- 9 for him shall We make easy the path towards hardship: 10 And his wealth will not avail him when he perishes. 11 Indeed, Guidance is Ours, 12 and to Us belong the Last and the First. 13 Therefor have I warned you of the flaming Fire 14 [the fire] which none shall have to endure but that most hapless wretch 15 Who denies and turns away. 16 He will be far away from the most pious. Abu Bakr Siddiq) 17 He who gives his wealth to be purified, 18 And who hath no favour from anyone to recompense. 19 Except the seeking of the pleasure of his Lord, the Most High. 20 And presently he shall become well pleased. 21
