Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
CONSIDER these [messages,] sent forth in waves 1 And those that strike violently, 2 and by the scatterers scattering (rain) 3 And by the Verses (of the Quran) that separate the right from the wrong. 4 Then spread abroad a Message, 5 to serve as an excuse or a warning. 6 that which you have been promised shall be fulfilled. 7 So when the stars are obliterated 8 And when the sky is riven asunder, 9 And when the mountains are blown away 10 and when the Messengers' time is set 11 For what Day are these (portents) deferred? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what will convey unto thee what the Day of Decision is! - 14 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 15 Did We not destroy the former generations? 16 Then We will follow them with the later ones. 17 Thus do We deal with the criminals. 18 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 19 Did We not create you from a base fluid 20 Then We lodged you in a secure place (the womb) 21 For a period (of gestation), determined (according to need)? 22 We determined; excellent determiners are We. 23 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 24 Did We not make the earth a receptacle, 25 The living and the dead, 26 And We placed high mountains as anchors in it and gave you sweet water to drink. 27 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 28 GO ON towards that [resurrection] which you were wont to call a lie! 29 "Depart ye to a Shadow (of smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 (Which yet is) no relief nor shelter from the flame. 31 it indeed throws up sparks like castles, 32 like giant fiery ropes! 33 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 34 That will be a Day when they shall not be able to speak. 35 nor shall they be permitted to offer excuses. 36 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 37 This is the Day of Judgement. We have assembled you all together with past generations. 38 and if you [think that you] have a subterfuge left, try to outwit Me!" 39 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 40
