The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By oath of the heaven, and by oath of the nightly arriver. 1 - Ah, what will tell thee what the Morning Star is! 2 (It is) the star of piercing brightness; 3 [for] no human being has ever been left unguarded. 4 So man must consider from what he has been created. 5 He was created of a gushing fluid, 6 Proceeding from between the back-bone and the ribs, 7 Surely, He is Able to bring him back, 8 On the day when hidden thoughts shall be searched out. 9 Then he shall have no power nor any helper. 10 By the heaven with its recurring cycle of rain, 11 And [by] the earth which cracks open, 12 Indeed, the Qur'an is a decisive statement, 13 not a flippant jest. 14 They are hatching up a plot, 15 And I (too) am planning a plan. 16 So grant the unbelievers a respite: let them alone for a while. 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
