The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Successful indeed are the believers 1 Who are humble in their prayers, 2 and who turn away from all that is frivolous, 3 who give charity, 4 And who guard their private parts, 5 Except from their wives or (the captives and slaves) that their right hands possess, for then, they are free from blame; 6 But whoever seeks beyond that, then those are the transgressors; 7 (Prosperous are those) who preserve their trusts and pledges 8 and those who observe their prayers. 9 These will be the heirs, 10 Who will inherit al-Firdaus. They will abide therein eternally. 11 Man We did create from a quintessence (of clay); 12 Then We placed him as a sperm in a firmly established lodging; 13 then We created of the drop a clot then We created of the clot a tissue then We created of the tissue bones then We garmented the bones in flesh; thereafter We produced him as another creature. So blessed be God, the fairest of creators! 14 Then lo! after that ye surely die. 15 Then will be raised up on the Day of Resurrection. 16 And We created above you seven ways, and We were not heedless of creation. 17 And We sent down from the heaven water in measure, and We caused it to settle in the earth; and verily to take it away We are Able. 18 Then through water We caused gardens of date-palms and vines to grow for you wherein you have an abundance of delicious fruits and from them you derive your livelihood. 19 The tree that grows on Mount Sinai yields oil and seasoning for those who eat. 20 In the cattle, too, is a lesson for you. We let you drink of that which is in their bellies, and there are many benefits in them for you, and you eat of them, 21 and are carried on them and also on ships. 22
