Let the dead earth be a Sign for them. We gave it life and produced from it grain whereof they eat. 33 And there We made gardens of palms and vines, and in it We caused fountains to gush forth, 34 That they may eat of the fruit thereof, and their hands made it not. Will they not, then, give thanks? 35 All glory to Him who created pairs of everything that grows from the earth, and out of themselves, and other things they do not know. 36 Of the signs for them is how We separated the day from the night and thus they remained in darkness; 37 While the sun keeps revolving in its orbit. This is the dispensation of the mighty, all-knowing (God). 38 And (as for) the moon, We have ordained for it stages till it becomes again as an old dry palm branch. 39 It is not permitted to the Sun to catch up the Moon, nor can the Night outstrip the Day: Each (just) swims along in (its own) orbit (according to Law). 40 And a Sign for them is that We bore their race (through the Flood) in the loaded Ark; 41 And We have created for them the like of it in which they board. 42 We could have drowned them if We pleased, and none would have answered their cry for help, nor would they have been saved, 43 except Our mercy which could enable them to enjoy themselves for an appointed time. 44 Whenever they are told to guard themselves against sin and the forth coming torment so that perhaps they could receive mercy 45 And never came an Ayah from among the Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) of their Lord to them, but they did turn away from it. 46 And when it is said to them: “Spend (in the Way of Allah) out of the sustenance that Allah has provided you,” the unbelievers say to the believers: “Shall we feed him whom, Allah would have fed, had He so wished?” Say: “You are in evident error.” 47 And they say: When will this threat come to pass, if you are truthful? 48 They are awaiting only for one Cry to seize them while they are yet disputing, 49 So they shall not be able to make a bequest, nor shall they return to their families. 50
