The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
(On the day) when the sun is made to cease shining, 1 when the stars shall be thrown down, 2 when the mountains shall be set in motion, 3 When the she-camels, ten months with young, are left untended; 4 the wild beasts are herded together, 5 the oceans are brought to a boil, 6 And when souls are united, 7 and when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 Upon what sin was she killed for. 9 when the scrolls are unrolled, 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped, 11 And when hell is further enflamed. 12 when Paradise is brought close: 13 (Then) every soul will know what it hath made ready. 14 I swear by the receding stars, 15 that hide, 16 by the night when it approaches 17 and the morn as it softly breathes: 18 That this is in truth the word of an honoured messenger, 19 of power, given a rank by the Owner of the Throne 20 Obeyed there [in the heavens] and trustworthy. 21 And your comrade is not mad. 22 he truly beheld [the angel - beheld] him on the clear horizon; 23 nor does he grudge (conveying this knowledge about) the Unseen; 24 The Quran is not the word of condemned satan. 25 Whither, then, will you go? 26 Verily this is no less than a Message to (all) the Worlds: 27 for whosoever of you would go straight, 28 but you shall not, unless Allah wills, the Lord of all the Worlds. 29
