He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ He frowned and then turned away 1 Because the blind man had come in his august presence. 2 And what would make you know that he would purify himself, 3 or yet remember, and the Reminder profit him. 4 As for he who thinks himself without need, 5 you attended to him, 6 though you are not to blame if he would not cleanse himself. 7 And as to him who comes to you striving hard, 8 And whereas he fears, 9 From him will you divert yourself. 10 Assuredly this is a reminder 11 For any one who desires to bear it in mind, 12 (It is) in Books held (greatly) in honour, 13 Exalted, purified, 14 In the hands of scribes (angels). 15 Noble and dutiful. 16 Be cursed (the disbelieving) man! How ungrateful he is! 17 Of what did He create him? 18 From a drop of liquid; He created him and then set several measures for him. 19 and then makes it easy for him to go through life; 20 Then He causes him to die and be buried. 21 Then, when it is His Will, He will resurrect him (again). 22 By no means he performed not that which He had commanded him. 23 Let man reflect on the food he eats. 24 How We poured down water in torrents, 25 and let the earth to break open 26 how We made the grain to grow, 27 grapes, vegetables, 28 and the olive, and the palm, 29 And dense gardens, 30 fruits, and grass. 31 as provision for you and for your cattle to enjoy. 32 But when there comes the Deafening Blast 33 On that day man will run away from his brother. 34 And from his mother and his father, 35 his wife and his sons: 36 Everyone on that Day will have affairs to keep him occupied. 37 On that day faces will be bright as dawn, 38 Laughing and full of joy, 39 but some faces will be covered with dust 40 and overcast with gloom: 41 Those! they are the infidels, the ungodly. 42
