The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Of what do they question one another? 1 About the great event, 2 About which they have been differing? 3 But they will soon come to know. 4 Surely, they will soon find out the truth! 5 Have We not made the earth as a wide expanse, 6 and the mountains [its] pegs? 7 And We created you in pairs 8 And made your sleep [a means for] rest 9 and We appointed night for a garment, 10 And have made the day for livelihood. 11 And We have built above you seven strong (heavens), 12 and We appointed a blazing lamp 13 and have sent down from the clouds, pouring rain 14 That We may produce from it grain and vegetation, 15 and thick gardens grow? 16 Surely, the Day of Judgement has an appointed time. 17 the Day when the trumpet [of resurrection] is sounded and you all come forward in multitudes; 18 and the heaven shall be opened, and become gates, 19 The mountains put in motion turning into a mirage. 20 Indeed, Hell has been lying in wait 21 a return for the insolent, 22 They will tarry therein for ages. 23 They will not taste therein cool or any drink. 24 except boiling water and pus, 25 The reward to each is according to what he is. 26 For lo! they looked not for a reckoning; 27 But they (impudently) treated Our Signs as false. 28 Everything have We recorded in a Book. 29 So taste (the fruit of your deeds). We shall only increase your torment. 30
