The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ What are they questioning each other about? 1 About the Great News 2 whereupon they are at variance? 3 Surely yes, they will soon come to know! 4 Again, by no means! anon they shall know. 5 Have We not made the earth an expanse. 6 And the mountains as pegs? 7 And We created you in pairs, 8 and We have made your sleep [a symbol of] death 9 and made the night a covering, 10 And made the day for livelihood 11 And We have built above you seven firmaments, 12 and We appointed a blazing lamp 13 And We sent down rain from water-laden clouds pouring in torrents 14 So that We bring forth thereby corn and vegetation. 15 And gardens of entwined growth. 16 Verily, the Day of Decision is a fixed time, 17 The day when the Trumpet will be blown – you will therefore come forth in multitudes. 18 And the heaven will be opened – it therefore becomes like gates. 19 The mountains put in motion turning into a mirage. 20 Indeed, Gehenna (Hell) has become an ambush, 21 For the exorbitant a receptacle. 22 They will abide therein for ages, 23 Finding neither sleep nor any thing to drink 24 Except hot boiling water and hot pus discharged from the people of hell. 25 An exact recompense (according to their evil crimes). 26 Indeed, they did not hope for a Reckoning, 27 And denied Our verses with [emphatic] denial. 28 And all things We have recorded in a Book. 29 So taste (the fruit of what you sowed), for We shall add nothing but torment, 30

كيف تعمل منظومة تمارين الحفظ؟ عند أدنى مستوى 0، تكون كل الكلمات ظاهرة. بينما يُخفي أعلى مستوى 9 كل الكلمات. فكيف تعمل المستويات المتوسطة، مثل 3، على سبيل المثال؟ قد تعتقد بأن المنظومة تخفي 3 من كل تسع كلمات بدقة. ليس تماما! في المستوى 3، لكل كلمة فرصة اختفاء بنسبة 3 من 9، و6 من 9 لتكون ظاهرة. بمعنى آخر، من الممكن، ولكن باحتمال شبة معدوم، أن تكون جميع كلمات المستوى 3 مخفية، أو أن تكون جميعها ظاهرة! وكذلك أيضًا، ففي المستويات المتوسطة، وبما يتناسب مع مستوى الصعوبة، يمكن أن تكون المخابئ غير كاملة أو شفافة جزئيًا بحيث تظهر الكلمات جزئيًا تحتها.
How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
