The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ Concerning what are they disputing? 1 About the great tidings! 2 About which they cannot agree. 3 Indeed, they shall know! 4 Again surely yes, they will soon come to know! 5 Have We not made the earth an expanse, 6 and the mountains as pegs? 7 We created you in pairs, 8 And have appointed your sleep for repose, 9 And have made the night as a covering (through its darkness), 10 And have made the day for livelihood. 11 and built above you seven strong firmaments, 12 And placed a lamp therein brightly burning. 13 And have sent down from the rainy clouds abundant water, 14 That We may produce therewith corn and vegetations, 15 And gardens thick with trees. 16 Verily the Day of Sorting out is a thing appointed, 17 the day the Trumpet is blown, and you shall come in troops, 18 And the heaven will have been opened, and it will have become doors. 19 and the mountains shall be made to vanish, as if they had been a mirage. 20 Indeed, Hell has been lying in wait 21 a return for the insolent, 22 They will abide therein for ages. 23 They will neither taste anything cool in it, nor anything to drink. 24 Except boiling water and benumbing cold: 25 The reward to each is according to what he is. 26 Indeed, they were not expecting an account 27 And denied Our verses with [emphatic] denial. 28 And everything We have recorded in a book. 29 So taste (the fruit of what you sowed), for We shall add nothing but torment, 30
