The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ About what are they asking one another? 1 About the great news, (i.e. Islamic Monotheism, the Quran, which Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) brought and the Day of Resurrection, etc.), 2 on which they [so utterly] disagree. 3 No indeed; soon will they come to know; 4 Surely, they will soon find out the truth! 5 Have We not spread the earth like a bed, 6 And the mountains as pegs? 7 And We have created you in pairs (male and female, tall and short, good and bad, etc.). 8 And made your sleep [a means for] rest 9 And have appointed the night as a cloak, 10 and the day as time for you to make a living? 11 and built above you seven strong firmaments, 12 And placed a lamp therein brightly burning. 13 From the rain clouds We send waters pouring down in abundance, 14 In order to produce grain and plants with it. 15 And gardens of thick growth. 16 Indeed, the Day of Judgement is an appointed time - 17 The Day that the Trumpet shall be sounded, and ye shall come forth in crowds; 18 And the heaven is opened and becometh as gates, 19 and the mountains will be set in motion and become a mirage. 20 Surely hell lies in wait, 21 A dwelling place for the Taghun (those who transgress the boundry limits set by Allah like polytheists, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, hyprocrites, sinners, criminals, etc.), 22 therein to tarry for ages, 23 Nothing cool shall they taste therein, nor any drink, 24 Except scalding water and [foul] purulence - 25 a fitting requital, 26 They did not expect such a Judgment 27 And they denied Our signs to the extreme. 28 And all things We have recorded in a Book. 29 So taste (the fruit of what you sowed), for We shall add nothing but torment, 30

Notes and Instructions
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
