The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
(On the day) when the sun is made to cease shining, 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 When the mountains vanish (like a mirage); 3 When the she-camels, ten months with young, are left untended; 4 And when the wild beasts are gathered 5 And when the seas rise, 6 when the souls shall be rejoined (with their bodies), 7 And the little girl buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was slain. 9 and when the scrolls of (men's) deeds shall be unfolded, 10 And when the heaven is torn away. 11 And when the Scorch shall be made to blaze, 12 And when the Garden is brought nigh, 13 then shall a soul know what it has produced. 14 I swear by the receding stars. 15 That run their course (and) hide themselves, 16 And by the night as it departs; 17 and brightening morning, 18 Verily this is the word of a most honourable Messenger, 19 Mighty, established in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 obeyed, moreover trusty. 21 Your Companion is not mad, 22 he truly beheld [the angel - beheld] him on the clear horizon; 23 And he is not avid of the Unseen. 24 Nor is this the word of an outcast devil. 25 So whither do you stray? 26 It is not except a reminder to the worlds 27 So let those who want, choose the right guidance 28 And what will you wish, except if Allah wills – the Lord of the Creation. 29
