The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By those [angels] who extract with violence 1 By the meteors rushing, 2 And by those who glide along (on errands of mercy), 3 Then press forward as in a race, 4 Then arrange to do (the Commands of their Lord), 5 On the Day (when the first blowing of the Trumpet is blown), the earth and the mountains will shake violently (and everybody will die), 6 to be followed by further [convulsions]! 7 Hearts, that Day, will tremble, 8 while eyes will be downcast. 9 They say: shall we indeed be restored to the first state, 10 even though we may have become [a heap of] crumbling bones?" 11 [And] they add, "That, then, would be a return with loss!" 12 But it will be only a single blow, 13 So they will immediately be in an open plain. 14 Has the story of Moses reached thee? 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 'Go to Pharaoh; he has waxed insolent. 17 And say to him, 'Would you [be willing to] purify yourself 18 ‘And I may guide you to your Lord, so that you may fear.’” 19 So he showed him the greater sign; 20 But [Pharaoh] gave him the lie and rebelliously rejected [all guidance,] 21 and hastily turned away, 22 And he summoned all his people, 23 And said, "I am your most exalted lord." 24 you pay attention 25 Surely, in this there is a lesson for he that fears! 26
