The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
WHEN THE SUN is shrouded in darkness, 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 When the mountains vanish (like a mirage); 3 the young barren camels are abandoned, 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 when the seas are set boiling, 6 And when the souls are paired 7 when the buried female infant is asked 8 for what crime she was slain, 9 And when the pages are made public 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped, 11 when Hell shall be set blazing, 12 And when the garden is brought nigh, 13 [then] each soul shall know what it has put forward. 14 So, I call the receding stars to witness, 15 Those that run [their courses] and disappear - 16 And by the night as it departs; 17 The rising dawn, 18 that the Quran is the word of the honorable angelic, mighty Messenger 19 [Who is] possessed of power and with the Owner of the Throne, secure [in position], 20 obeyed by (all creatures) and faithful to His trust. 21 Your Companion is not mad, 22 in truth he saw him (Gabriel) on the clear horizon, 23 And he is not avid of the Unseen. 24 And it (the Quran) is not the word of the outcast Shaitan (Satan). 25 Where then will you go? 26 This [message] is no less than a reminder to all mankind 27 For those of you who desire to walk the path that is straight, 28 but your wishing will not avail unless Allah, the Lord of the Universe, so wishes. 29
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
