Al-Takweer
The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sun is covered, 1 when the stars shall be thrown down, 2 And when the mountains shall be made to pass away, 3 And when milch camels roam abandoned. 4 when the savage beasts shall be brought together, 5 And when the seas shall become as blazing Fire or shall overflow; 6 And when souls are united, 7 And when the female (infant) buried alive (as the pagan Arabs used to do) shall be questioned. 8 For what crime she was killed; 9 when the scrolls shall be unrolled, 10 And when the heaven is torn away. 11 And when Hellfire is set ablaze 12 And when Paradise shall be brought near, 13 Every soul will then come know what it has brought. 14 Rather, I swear by the returning 15 Go straight, or hide; 16 And by the night when it departeth, 17 The rising dawn, 18 Verily, this is the Word (this Quran brought by) a most honourable messenger [Jibrael (Gabriel), from Allah to the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him)]. 19 of power, given a rank by the Owner of the Throne 20 who is obeyed there and is worthy of trust. 21 Your companion is not possessed; 22 Surely he beheld Him on the clear horizon. 23 He is not chary of making public what is unknown. 24 And it is not the word of an accursed Satan; 25 So where are you going? 26 That is but an advice to the entire creation! 27 To whomsoever among you who wills to walk straight, 28 but your wishing will not avail unless Allah, the Lord of the Universe, so wishes. 29
