Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The Resurrection Verifier; 1 And what is that indubitable event? 2 And what do you know what that indubitable event is? 3 (The tribes of) Thamud and A'ad disbelieved in the judgment to come. 4 Then as to Samood, they were destroyed by an excessively severe punishment. 5 And as to Ad, they were destroyed by a roaring, violent blast. 6 which continued to strike them for seven nights and eight days so that eventually you could see the people lying dead like the hollow trunks of uprooted palm-trees. 7 Can you see any remnant of them now? 8 Pharaoh likewise, and those before him, and the Subverted Cities -- they committed error, 9 and rebelled against their Sustainer's apostles: and so He took them to task with a punishing grasp exceedingly severe! 10 When the water rose in flood, We bore you in the ark, 11 so that We might make it a reminder for you and so that attentive ears might retain it. 12 So when the Trumpet is blown with a single blast 13 and the earth and the mountains shall be lifted up and crushed with a single stroke! 14 On that Day shall the (Great) Event come to pass. 15 and heaven shall be split, for upon that day it shall be very frail, 16 And the angels shall be on the borders thereof; and on that Day eight shall bear over them the Throne of thy Lord. 17 That Day shall ye be brought to Judgment: not an act of yours that ye hide will be hidden. 18 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, he will say: Lo! read my book: 19 Indeed, I was certain that I would be meeting my account." 20 so he will live in a state of Bliss 21 In a lofty Garden – 22 with its fruits within easy reach. 23 (It will be said): 'Eat and drink with a good appetite because of what you did in days long passed' 24 As for him whose Record will be given to him in his left hand, he will exclaim: “Would that I had never been given my Record, 25 And I had not known what my account was: 26 Would that it (my death) had ended it all! 27 “My wealth did not in the least benefit me.” 28 There hath perished from me my authority. 29 Seize him and fetter him, 30 Roast him in Hell, 31 "Then fasten him with a chain whereof the length is seventy cubits!" 32 He did not believe in God the supreme, 33 nor were they concerned with feeding the destitute. 34 "So no friend hath he here this Day. 35 and the only food he has is filth 36 which only the sinners will eat.” 37
