Also recount the story of Abraham in the Book. He was a man of truth, and a prophet. 41 who asked his father, "Father, why do you worship something that can neither hear nor see nor help you at all? 42 Father, a knowledge that has not reached you has come to me. So follow me that I may guide you to a Straight Way. 43 "O my father! Worship not Shaitan (Satan). Verily! Shaitan (Satan) has been a rebel against the Most Beneficent (Allah). 44 O my father, indeed I fear that there will touch you a punishment from the Most Merciful so you would be to Satan a companion [in Hellfire]." 45 He said, “What! You turn away from my Gods, O Ibrahim? If you do not desist, I will certainly stone you, and keep no relation with me for a long while.” 46 Abraham said, "Peace be with you. I shall ask my Lord to forgive you; He has been gracious to me. 47 I will leave you and those you invoke apart from God, and pray to my Lord. Haply in praying to my Lord I will not be deprived." 48 So when he turned away from them and those they worshipped, other than Allah, We gave him Isaac and Jacob. Each of them We made a Prophet, 49 We granted them Our blessing and high renown. 50
