3/4 Hizb 45
< random >
And indeed Nuh (Noah) invoked Us, and We are the Best of those who answer (the request). 75 And We delivered him and his people from the great distress, 76 and We made his seed the survivors, 77 And left for him among the later folk (the salutation): 78 'Peace be upon Noah among all the worlds' 79 Verily We! thus We recompense the well-doers. 80 he was among Our believing servants. 81 Afterwards We drowned the others. 82 ۞ And verily of his sect was Ibrahim. 83 he came to his Lord with a sound heart. 84 "Behold!" he said to his father and to his people, "What are these that you worship? 85 Is it a falsehood-god beside Allah that ye desire? 86 What do you imagine the Lord of the worlds to be?" 87 Then he looked up at the stars (they worshipped), 88 Then he said: Surely I am sick (of your worshipping these). 89 so they turned their backs on him and went off. 90 Then he turned to their gods, and said: 'What do you eat? 91 What aileth ye that ye speak not? 92 Then he turned against them secretly, smiting them with the right hand. 93 Thereafter they (the people) came to him in haste. 94 He said: "Worship you that which you (yourselves) carve? 95 while it is Allah Who has created you and all that you make?” 96 They replied: 'Build for him a building and cast him into the fire' 97 And they designed a snare for him, but We made them the undermost. 98 And he said: Surely I fly to my lord; He will guide me. 99 My Lord, grant me a righteous (son)' 100 We therefore gave him the glad tidings of an intelligent son. 101 When he was old enough to go about with him, he said: "O my son, I dreamt that I was sacrificing you. Consider, what you think?" He replied: "Father, do as you are commanded. If God pleases you will find me firm." 102 Then, when they had both surrendered (to Allah), and he had flung him down upon his face, 103 We called to him, "O Abraham, 104 you have indeed fulfilled your dream. Thus do We reward the good-doers.” 105 That was indeed a clear trial. 106 And We ransomed him with a momentous sacrifice: 107 and perpetuated his praise in later generations. 108 Peace be unto Ibrahim: 109 Thus indeed do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 110 for he was truly one of our believing servants. 111 And We gave him good tidings of Isaac, a prophet from among the righteous. 112 And We blessed him, and Isaac; and of their seed some are good-doers, and some manifest self-wrongers. 113
