Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
HAS THERE COME unto thee the tiding of the Overshadowing Event? 1 On that Day faces shall be humbled, 2 Working [hard] and exhausted. 3 They will [enter to] burn in an intensely hot Fire. 4 Given to drink of a spring fiercely boiling. 5 no food for them but cactus thorn 6 Which neither nourishes nor avails against hunger. 7 [And] some faces will on that Day shine with bliss, 8 Well-pleased with their endeavour, 9 in a sublime Garden, 10 wherein thou wilt hear no empty talk. 11 Countless springs will flow therein, 12 Therein will be thrones raised high, 13 and goblets laid out, 14 And cushions set in a row, 15 And rich carpets (all) spread out. 16 Do they never reflect on the camels and how they were created, 17 And how the heaven was raised up, 18 And the mountains, how they are firmly fixed, 19 And the earth, how it was spread out? 20 So, [O Prophet] exhort them: your task is only to exhort, 21 You are not a dictator over them. 22 But whoever turns back and disbelieves, 23 God will punish them with the greatest torment. 24 Certainly, it is to Us that they will return. 25 and then it is for Us to call them to account. 26
God Almighty has spoken the truth.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
ColorfulQuran.com displays pages in one of three Arabic fonts. Each may appear with a one-third chance, adding more diversity to the already diverse colors. And the words remain unchanged forever. ColorfulQuran.com will have more beautiful fonts soon, God willing.
