The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I CALL THE night to witness when it covers over, 1 And the day when it shines in all its glory, 2 and That which created the male and the female, 3 Verily, (the ends) ye strive for are diverse. 4 Then as for him who giveths and feareth Him. 5 and believes in the truth of the ultimate good 6 Unto him therefore We shall indeed make easy the path to ease. 7 And for him who hoarded wealth and remained carefree, 8 And who belieth the Good, 9 We shall pave his way to hardship, 10 And what will his wealth benefit him when he goes down (in destruction). 11 Indeed, Guidance is Ours, 12 And most surely Ours is the hereafter and the former. 13 I therefore warn you of the fire that is ablaze. 14 None will [enter to] burn therein except the most wretched one. 15 Who denies and turns away. 16 One who fears God shall be kept away from it -- 17 the Godfearing who spends his wealth to purify himself; 18 And have in their minds no favour from anyone for which a reward is expected in return, 19 acting only for the sake of his Lord the Most High -- 20 He verily will be content. 21
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
