The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ The Merciful One 1 has taught the Koran. 2 He created man. 3 He has taught him speech (and intelligence). 4 The sun and the moon to a reckoning, 5 And the herbs and the trees do prostrate (to Him). 6 and He has raised up the heaven and has set a balance 7 so that you should not transgress the measure. 8 And observe the weight with equity and do not make the balance deficient. 9 He set down the earth for the creation. 10 On it are fruits and palm-trees with sheathed clusters [of dates], 11 Husked grain and scented herb. 12 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 13 He created man (Adam) from sounding clay like the clay of pottery. 14 And created jinns from the white-hot flame of fire. 15 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 16 [He is] Lord of the two sunrises and Lord of the two sunsets. 17 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 18 He has let loosed the two seas (the salt water and the sweet) meeting together. 19 [yet] between them is a barrier which they may not transgress. 20 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 21 Pearls and coral-stone come forth from them. 22 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 23 And His are the ships going and coming in the seas, like mountains. 24 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 25

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
