The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ The All-merciful 1 has taught the Koran. 2 He created man 3 [And] taught him eloquence. 4 The sun and moon revolve to a computation; 5 And the herbs and the trees do obeisance. 6 He raised the heavens and set up everything in balance, 7 so that you would maintain justice. 8 but weigh things equitably and skimp not in the balance. 9 And earth -- He set it down for all beings, 10 Therein are fruits, date-palms producing sheathed fruit-stalks (enclosing dates). 11 Grain with husk, and fragrant grasses. 12 Which of the bounties of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 13 He created man of clay like the potter's, 14 And He created the jinn of a flame of fire. 15 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 16 (He is) Lord of the two Easts and Lord of the two Wests: 17 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 18 He has let free the two bodies of flowing water, meeting together: 19 and yet there is a barrier between them which they may not overstep. 20 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 21 Out of them both come out pearl and coral. 22 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord would you then deny? 23 His too are the ships that run, raised up in the sea like land-marks. 24 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 25
