The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By heaven and the night-star! 1 And what will make you know what the comer by night is? 2 It is the piercing star. 3 For every soul there is a watcher. 4 So let man look - from what is he created. 5 He is created from a gushing fluid 6 that issues from between the loins and the ribs. 7 Surely He (the Creator) has the power to bring him back (to life). 8 On the Day when man's deepest secrets shall be put to the test 9 Then will he have no might nor any helper. 10 By the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 And the earth splitting (with plants); 12 Behold this is the Word that distinguishes (Good from Evil): 13 And it is not a thing for amusement. 14 They are devising guile, 15 and I too am devising a guile. 16 So respite the unbelievers; delay with them awhile. 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
End of Surah: The Comet (Al-Taareq). Sent down in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
