The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
When the sunlight is rolled up. 1 And when the stars darken, 2 when the mountains shall be set moving, 3 the young barren camels are abandoned, 4 And when the wild animals are made to go forth, 5 And when the seas are set on fire, 6 And when souls are reunited, 7 questions are asked about the baby girls buried alive, 8 for what crime she had been slain, 9 And when the pages are laid open, 10 And when the sky is torn away, 11 And when hell is further enflamed. 12 when Paradise is brought close: 13 then shall each person know what he has brought along. 14 I swear by the receding stars. 15 Moving swiftly and hiding themselves, 16 And by the night as it departs; 17 and brightening morning, 18 That this is in truth the word of an honoured messenger, 19 who is honored in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 With authority there, (and) faithful to his trust. 21 And your companion is not [at all] mad. 22 Surely he beheld Him on the clear horizon. 23 He is not avid of the Unseen. 24 And it (the Quran) is not the word of the outcast Shaitan (Satan). 25 Where to are you then heading? 26 It is naught but a Reminder unto all beings, 27 For those of you who desire to walk the path that is straight, 28 But ye shall not will except as Allah wills,- the Cherisher of the Worlds. 29
