Nay; I swear by the moon, 32 And [by] the night when it departs 33 and by the day when it dawns (with its radiance), 34 That (Hell) is surely one of the greater (signs), 35 A warning for people -- 36 to whoever among you desires to go forward, or lag behind. 37 Every soul, for what it has earned, will be retained 38 save the People of the Right Hand 39 In gardens, they shall ask each other 40 about the guilty ones: 41 What led you into the Scorching Fire? 42 They will answer: "We were not among those who prayed; 43 “Nor used to feed the needy.” 44 And we used to enter into vain discourse with those who engaged [in it], 45 “And used to deny the Day of Justice.” 46 until death approached us". 47 So, the intercession of intercessors will not avail them. 48 What aileth them, therefore, that they are from the admonition turning away? 49 like frightened donkeys 50 fleeing -- before a lion? 51 No indeed; each one of them desires that open letters be sent to each of them. 52 Never! In fact they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 Nay, verily, this (Quran) is an admonition, 54 So whosoever will may heed. 55 And they will not mind unless Allah please. He is worthy to be feared and worthy to forgive. 56
