The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I CALL TO witness the heavens and the night Star -- 1 And what could make thee conceive what it is that comes in the night? 2 It is the star shining brightly. 3 There is no soul but that it has over it a protector. 4 So man must consider from what he has been created. 5 He is created from a gushing fluid 6 Proceeding from between the back-bone and the ribs, 7 Indeed Allah is Able to return him. 8 On the Day when man's deepest secrets shall be put to the test 9 [man] will have no power, and no helper. 10 By the rotating heavens 11 and the earth, bursting forth with plants! 12 Indeed the Qur’an is a decisive Word. 13 And it is not a frivolity. 14 Indeed the disbelievers carry out their evil schemes. 15 and I too am devising a guile. 16 Give respite to the disbelievers and leave them alone for a while. 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
