Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ The Inevitable Reality - 1 What is the Sure Reality? 2 Would that you knew (in detail) what the Inevitable is! 3 The Thamud and the Ad denied the (possibility of a) sudden calamity, calling it false. 4 As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the outburst. 5 And as for A’ad, they were destroyed by a severe thundering windstorm. 6 To which He subjected them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so that thou mightest have seen men during it lying prostrate, as though they were stumps of palms ruined. 7 Do you see any trace of them? 8 Similarly, Pharaoh, and those before him, and the ruined villages, sinned 9 And they disobeyed their Lord's Messenger, so He punished them with a strong punishment. 10 Lo, when the waters rose, We bore you in the running ship 11 so that We might make it an instructive event for you, and retentive ears might preserve its memory. 12 So when the Trumpet is blown with a single blast 13 And the earth is moved, and its mountains, and they are crushed to powder at one stroke,- 14 on that Day the Great Event will come to pass. 15 The sky will cleave asunder on that day and fall to pieces. 16 And the angels shall be on the sides thereof; and above them eight shall bear on that day your Lord's power. 17 On that day ye will be exposed; not a secret of you will be hidden. 18 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, he will say: Lo! read my book: 19 I was sure that the record of my deeds would be shown to me". 20 So he shall be in a life, well-pleasing. 21 In a Garden lofty. 22 The fruits in bunches whereof will be low and near at hand. 23 Such people will be told, "Eat and drink with pleasure as the reward for what you did in the past". 24 But whosoever gets his ledger in his left hand, will say: "Would that I were never given my ledger, 25 "And that I had never realised how my account (stood)! 26 Oh, would that it had been death! 27 My riches have not availed me, 28 Gone from me is my authority." 29 (A command will be issued): “Seize him and shackle him, 30 Then cast him to be burnt in Hell; 31 then in a chain seventy arm's lengths long insert him. 32 He would not believe in Allah, the Most Great; 33 Nor he urged on others the feeding of the poor. 34 That is why he has no friend today, 35 Nor any food save filthy corruption. 36 None will eat it except the sinners. 37
