And convey unto them the story of Abraham 69 When he asked his father and his people: "What do you worship?" 70 They answered: We worship idols, and we remain ever devoted to them." 71 He said: Do they hear you when ye cry? 72 Or do they benefit you, or do you harm?" 73 They replied, "But we found our fathers doing the same." 74 He said: have ye observed that which ye worship 75 Ye and your fathers of old? 76 They are an enemy to me, except the Lord of all Being 77 Who created me and Who guides me; 78 He Who feedeth me and giveth me to drink. 79 And when I am ill, it is He who cures me 80 “And He will give me death, then resurrect me.” 81 And who I aspire that He will forgive me my sin on the Day of Recompense." 82 My Lord, give me Judgment, and join me with the righteous, 83 And grant me an honourable mention in later generations; 84 and make me of those who will inherit the Garden of Bliss, 85 Forgive me and my father: He was surely among those who went astray. 86 Do not betray me 87 The day when wealth and sons avail not (any man) 88 "But only he (will prosper) that brings to Allah a sound heart; 89 And the Garden shall be brought nigh to the God-fearing. 90 And hell will be revealed for the astray. 91 they will be asked, "Where are those whom you worshipped 92 apart from God? Do they help you or help themselves?' 93 Then they shall be hurled therein, they and the seduced ones. 94 and the hosts of Iblis - all together. 95 They will say while they dispute therein, 96 "By Allah, we were indeed in manifest error 97 When We held you (false gods) as equals (in worship) with the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists); 98 And no one misguided us except the criminals. 99 Now we have none to intercede for us, 100 "'Nor a single friend to feel (for us). 101 If only we could return and be among the believers!" 102 Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers. 103 And lo, thy Lord! He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful. 104
