The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ The Compassionate. 1 Taught the Qur'an, 2 He has created man: 3 He taught distinctness. 4 [At His behest] the sun and the moon run their appointed courses; 5 And the plants and the trees prostrate (for Him). 6 And the heaven He raised and imposed the balance 7 So that none may err against the scales, 8 And observe the weight with equity, and make not deficient the balance. 9 He positioned the earth for all the creatures: 10 with fruit thereon, and palm trees with sheathed clusters [of dates,] 11 and grains with their husk and fragrant plants. 12 Which favors of your Lord will you both (humans and jinn) belie? 13 He has created man from dry, rotten clay like the potter's, 14 whereas the invisible beings He has created out of a confusing flame of fire. 15 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 16 He is the Lord of the two easts and the Lord of the two wests. 17 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 18 He hath loosed the two seas. They meet. 19 Between them is a barrier which none of them can transgress. 20 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 21 There come forth from them pearls, both large and small. 22 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 23 His are the ships with elevated sails upon the sea like mountains. 24 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 25
