The dwellers of the Thicket belied their Messengers. 176 When Shu'ayb said to them, "Will you not fear Allah? 177 I am a trustworthy messenger to you: 178 “Therefore fear Allah and obey me.” 179 “And I do not ask from you any fee for it; my reward is only upon the Lord Of The Creation.” 180 ۞ Give full measure, and cause no loss to others. 181 Weigh on an even balance. 182 And do not deprive people of their due and do not commit abuse on earth, spreading corruption. 183 and have fear of Him Who created you and the earlier generations." 184 Said they: "Thou art but one of the bewitched, 185 "You are but a human being like us and verily, we think that you are one of the liars! 186 So cause a piece of the sky to fall upon us if you are truthful." 187 He said, "My Lord has full knowledge of all your actions." 188 But they gave him the lie. And thereupon suffering overtook them on a day dark with shadows: and verily, it was the suffering of an awesome day! 189 Surely, in that there is a sign; yet most of them do not believe. 190 And most surely your Lord is Mighty, the Merciful. 191
