Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

The power of Abu Lahab will perish, and he will perish. 1 What will his wealth avail him, and all that he has gained? 2 he shall roast at a flaming fire 3 And so will his wife; carrying a bundle of firewood on her head. 4 A twisted rope of palm-leaf fibre round her (own) neck! 5

God Almighty has spoken the truth.
